On Friday 20 May 2005, the Monegasque "free-diver", Pierre Frolla,
descended to a depth of 100 m returning to the surface successfully
with the chequered flag of the 63rd Monaco F1 Grand Prix, to the great
joy of his family and friends and many well-known personalities and
sportsmen who had come to give him their support.
The flag was signed by some of these personalities, such as : Franck
Camas, Philippe Desjoyaux, Christian Estrosi, the President of the
A-M & Council, the President of ACM, and the representative of the
Monaco Yacht Club...
It was then handed over to Michel Ferry, the Race Director, who used it to flag the end of the Grand Prix.
The three winning drivers, Kimi RAIKKONEN, Nick HEIDFELD and Mark
WEBBER, in turn then also signed the flag before handing it over to
Prince Albert II, who will keep it safely in his possession until it is
handed to the Raffle winner, during the NRJ Concert taking place in
Monaco, on 25 June 2005.
