46TH MONTE-CARLO TELEVISION FESTIVAL
|

The 46th Monte-Carlo Television Festival held in the Grimaldi Forum,
from 26 june to 1st july. The professionals of television came from all
countries to reward the best productions, series, TV films,
documentaries and news programmes.

Many actors were present to this 46th edition : Dennis Haysbert (24,
The unit), Richard Belzer (Law and Order - Special Victims Unit),
Daniel Dae Kim and Jorge Garcia (Lost), Geena Davis (Commander in
Chief), and many others joined to the famous Gold Nymphs ceremony.

The AMADE Award

This year still, a special Prize AMADE aimed to reward a programme
which deals with an issue of human relationships, whose treatment and
plot or action do not feature violence but encourage its rejection.
The AMADE jury 2006 was presided by Maria Grazia Cucinotta and composed of Bridgette Radebe,
Francis Kasasa (Secrétaire Général de l'AMADE Mondiale) Francis Kasasa
(Secretary General of AMADE Mondiale) and Jean Kerwat (member of the
Executive Committee of AMADE Mondiale)

The 2006 AMADE Prize goes to the African School series, directed by
Nicki Stocker and Sarah Hamilton (Lion Television, United Kingdom).
This groundbreaking and uncompromising series captures the real daily
lives and concerns of young ugandan children and of their teachers, in
the town of Masindi.

On the occasion of this event, AMADE Mondiale made a donation of 100 000 Euros to Monaco Asia,
through its president, Mr Francesco Bongiovanni. These funds will allow
the building of an orphanage in Indonesia, in the locality of
Gunungsitoli, on the Nias island.
