Elegance and humour with charity purpose
Sponsored by the prestigious Italian firm for the third year, the Gucci Masters took place from 2 to 4 December 2011 at the Parc des Expositions -
Paris Nord Villepinte, within the Paris Horse Show.
Organized by EEM, this international 5 stars contest is undoubtly one of the most important in the Jumping world schedule.
Among the many competitions of the event, the special Style and Competition for AMADE challenge held for the second year in a row.
Godmothered by Charlotte Casiraghi, this challenge gathered 12 teams - each sponsored by a different company - composed of a professional and an amateur horserider. Run as a relay within an allotted time, the event was judged on jumping
penalties, elegance displayed by the pairs of riders, style, manner and
dressage. Participants were judged by a jury of prestigious personalities.
The 2011 jury were composed of Virginie Coupérie-Eiffel, ambassador of the Gucci Masters, Marcel Rozier, Jumping olympic gold medalist in 1976, and Stéphane Bern, always involved for AMADE. The judges were seduced by the humor of the riders, whose costumes showed a lot of creativity.
Nicolas Canteloup, Benjamin Castaldi, Martina Hingis-Hutin and others, together with experienced horseriders, created a tremendous atmosphere with their equestrian tennis games, chases between Lucky Luke and the Dalton Brothers, and flying lessons taught by Superman.
Eventually, the Gucci team (Edwina Tops-Alexander / Charlotte Casiraghi) ended first, while the EADS team (Jérôme Hurel / Nicolas Canteloup) was winning the Style Award.
Part of the earnings raised by the Challenge has been donated on the evening to our President, H.R.H. The Princess of Hanover, to support our worldwide activities.
78 000 Euros have been raised by the event and transferred to AMADE.
