MAWOMA honors AMADE's "Dignity for Women" program at its launch gala

As part of its program launched in 2018, AMADE participated in the launch of the first world competition exclusively dedicated to female conductors called MAWOMA (for Music And Women Maestra, Music and Women Conductors), during a gala evening on January 24, 2019, in the lounges of the InterContinental Paris - Le Grand in Paris.

In the presence of HRH The Princess of Hanover, HE Mr. Christophe Steiner, Ambassador of Monaco in France, Mr. Cyrille Vigneron, President & CEO of Maison Cartier, Mr. David Holder, President of Ladurée House, Mrs. Clémence Guerrand , President-Founder of MAWOMA, Mr. Frédéric Chaslin, President of the Jury, and many personalities, this gala punctuated by musical interludes ended with a raffle for the benefit of AMADE and its program dedicated to " Dignity for women ". For the occasion, many prizes were offered by Maison Cartier, very involved in the defense of women's rights, as well as by Maison Ladurée, deeply committed to equality and professional diversity in the workplace.

The sums collected during this evening under the sign of solidarity with women will allow the enrollment of 10 girls in Matana College in Burundi. They will also be used to create intimate protection production units in refugee and IDP camps in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). But also the construction of health centers dedicated to young girls from the DRC, victims of sexual violence. Or again the construction of equipment for colleges to promote access to quality education for girls in Burundi.

As part of its "Dignity for Women" program, AMADE has engaged in the DRC, in the Great Lakes region or in the Sahel, to enable vulnerable girls and women to access the country. menstrual hygiene, to provide medical and psychological care for girls and women victims of sexual violence, and to promote access to secondary education for girls.

A major event in the world of classical music, MAWOMA (for Music And Women Maestra, Music and Women Conductors) is the first traveling world competition dedicated to women conductors. Born from the passionate commitment of the pianist Clémence Guerrand, in partnership with Maison Cartier, it will reveal the talent of musicians of all nationalities in the art of conducting, where they are still largely in the minority. Itinerant, this contest will take place successively on six continents and will stop over in Vienna, Los Angeles, Johannesburg, Tokyo, Rio and Sydney, from April 2019. The highlight, the final concert, which will take place in late 2019 in Paris, will decide the six finalists and designate the Maestra for this first edition.
