MOROCCO: 26th edition of the Aïcha des Gazelles Rally

Two Azurians are in the race for the 2016 edition of the Rallye des Gazelles. They are part of the Gazelles d'Azur crew, who will represent the Monegasque association AMADE.

Valérie and Isabelle, both residents of the Côte d'Azur, are training the Gazelles d'Azur crew who is preparing for their participation in the next edition of the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles. This rally, 100% female and eco-responsible, celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. The next edition will start in Nice on the 19th March 2016 and will join Morocco for 9 days of off-road events.

"It's a real challenge! This is the first time we're participating, and we're discovering all the aspects of a rally: mechanics, driving, navigation!! But 70% of the crews are also here for the first time. We have as much chance as anyone and in any case, we're convinced that it will be an extraordinary adventure," says Valerie.
For this competition, Gazelles d'Azur will represent the values and the commitment of the Monegasque association AMADE who intervenes in the defense of the rights of children.

Isabelle said: "It was important for us to represent an association during this competition. We are both mothers, and we have been very sensitive to the commitment of AMADE to disadvantaged children all over the world. It is a commitment that we felt was necessary to shed some light on".
"Defending and protecting the rights of children requires the mobilization of all, and AMADE particularly appreciates the commitment of the Rally of Gazelles crew", Jérôme FROISSART, Secretary General.

The Rally of the Gazelles is a race that takes place in the Moroccan desert. More than 300 participants, from 30 different nationalities, will begin the race in March 2016.
