AMADE and CFM Indosuez Wealth Management rallied to prevent digitally excluded children from dropping out of school in the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region.

In the context of the “Coronavirus Emergency” operation, CFM Indosuez Wealth Management, a historic partner, joined forces with AMADE to help struggling children follow distance-learning classes resulting from a lack of digital access.

At a time of public health crisis, thousands of underprivileged youths have lost all connection to school because they don’t have the IT equipment or the family support they need to follow their online courses.

To face this emergency and allow these children to study from home in a short and medium term, AMADE is supporting the #EmergencyConnection initiative that was launched by a group of associations and foundations, including Break Poverty Foundation, Emmaüs Connect, The Mentorat Collective and the SFR Foundation. This collective has set itself the goal of providing a laptop and an internet connection to 10’000 underprivileged youths.

The funds that were mobilized by AMADE, thanks to the generosity of CFM Indosuez Wealth Management and its donors, will enable to equip 168 young students in the PACA region. These children go to school in Nice, Cagnes sur Mer, Toulon, Brignoles, Digne… They live beneath the poverty threshold and were referred by their schools, child welfare services, or local associations. These young students will also have access to an internet connection provided by the SFR Foundation and will benefit from personalized tutoring through member associations of the Mentorat Collective, including the Télémaque Institute, with which AMADE is collaborating.

As of this day, the goals set by the Collective have been reached, and even exceeded, as 12’000 children have re-established a contact with their school.
