AMADE and CFM Indosuez Wealth Management rallied to prevent digitally excluded children from dropping out of school in the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region.
In the framework of the “Coronavirus Emergency” operation, CFM Indosuez Wealth Management, historic partner, joined forces with AMADE in order to help children who are struggling to follow distance-learning classes due to a lack of digital access.
In this time of public health crisis, thousands of underprivileged young people have lost all link with School because they lack the computer equipment or the proper family support they need to follow their online courses.
To face this emergency and allow these children to study from home in a short and medium term, AMADE is supporting the #EmergencyConnection initiative that was launched by a group of associations and foundations, including Break Poverty Foundation, Emmaüs Connect, The Mentorat Collective and the SFR Foundation. This collective has set the objective of providing a laptop and an internet connection to 10 000 underprivileged young people.
The funds that were mobilized by AMADE, thanks to the generosity of CFM Indosuez Wealth Management and its donors will enable the equipment of 168 young people in the PACA region. These children go to school in Nice, Cagnes sur Mer, Toulon, Brignoles, Digne… They live beneath the poverty line and were referred by their schools, child welfare services or local associations. These young people will also have access to an internet connection provided by the SFR Foundation and will benefit from personalized tutoring through the member-associations of the Mentorat Collective, including the Télémaque Institute, with which AMADE is collaborating.
As of this day, the objective set by the Collective has been reached, even surpassed, as 12 000 children have reestablished a link with their school.
