In Brazil, although 100% of the urban population has access to electricity, the country's territory is actually marked by sharp contrasts and profound inequalities. In the Amazon region, over two million people (IEMA, 2019) suffer from a lack of electricity.
Between 2023 and 2025, with the support of AMADE, Energy Assistance has set up a pilot project to electrify homes, schools and dispensaries in the villages of Morada Nova and Maronal, involving around 61 families, in order to help these populations and prevent the exodus of young people. By revitalizing the local economy and production to renew jobs, the project aims to offer more prospects to the community's children and young people, enabling them to better thrive within their region.

The province of South Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo is a strategic point of passage for various militias and armed groups, who make massive use of sexual violence to break down any resistance from the local population.
Populations fleeing the conflict zones are directed towards the city of Bukavu, where they live in extreme poverty. The girls, aged between 10 and 15, are recruited through nightclubs and brothels and forced to have sex with several men, in return for US$0.5 per night.
The PANZI Foundation has developed the "Save a girl" initiative, a specific assistance program for young prostituted and exploited girls. A total of 40 girls are currently receiving medical and psychological care, followed by support to help them reintegrate into society.

The ACAY association initiated the Seconde Chance program in Marseille, based on innovative educational strategies and a support system for the reintegration of young people in conflict with the law.
The program is built around three main areas of intervention: preventing delinquency among pupils with learning difficulties (prevention), curbing recidivism among incarcerated minors (rehabilitation) and helping minors released from prison to reintegrate (reintegration).
Every year, 80% of young people supported on leaving prison succeed in their studies or professional careers, 90% of young people supported in detention improve their behavior with their peers, 450 schoolchildren and 80 incarcerated minors are sensitized.

As of September 15, 2023 nearly 126,000 men, women and children have arrived in Lampedusa by sea, mainly from Tunisia and Libya. Of these, 10% are unaccompanied minors. The hotspots and reception areas managed locally, notably by the Italian Red Cross, are overflowing, with over 7,000 migrants present on September 14 in a center with a capacity of 400 people.
Faced with this crisis, Terre des Hommes is stepping up its intervention with UFMs as soon as they arrive on the quayside, and within the hotspots, by deploying the FARO program in Sicily. This program provides emergency psychological and psychosocial assistance, support and accompaniment in high-risk situations. The urgent need to support forces on the ground is essential if minors and families are to regain their dignity, humanity and sense of identity.
