Launch of a Promotion of Excellence, a mentoring program to promote talented high school students

An initiative supported by CFM Indosuez Wealth Management employees and students from the Lycée Guillaume Apollinaire in Nice.

Every year, almost 100,000 young people in France leave school without a diploma. One of the main reasons for this is a lack of understanding of the school system and the world of work, particularly among young people from modest backgrounds.  Social determinism remains a reality despite all the efforts made, since young people from modest backgrounds, the children of blue-collar or white-collar workers, are 2.5 times less likely to obtain a higher diploma at bac+2 level than the children of executives.

AMADE is supporting Les Entretiens de l'Excellence, an association already established in the Paris region, by enabling it to open its very first class in the Nice academy, with the Lycée Guillaume Apollinaire. The initiative was made possible thanks to the financial and human support of CFM Indosuez Wealth Management, which joined forces with AMADE as part of its social corporate responsibility program. The 12 volunteer high school students, identified by their teachers, making up this first class will be mentored by 12 CFM Indosuez employees. The mentoring will last for 3 years, from the first year of secondary school through to the baccalaureate.

The aim of this promotion of excellence is to enable these talented students to break away from social determinism, widen their field of possibilities, develop their self-esteem and self-confidence, open up to the professional world and mature their career plans.

The program is built around 3 pillars: general culture, orality and eloquence, and an understanding of the company and its codes.

On Wednesday October 18, 2023, students and employees of CFM Indosuez Wealth Management met. At the end of this afternoon rich in exchanges, the mentor/mentee pairs were formed. A first meeting before meeting again once a month to progress together in this co-construction.

The students will benefit from various workshops led by professionals, notably from the Cours Florent, at their Lycée or on the CFM Indosuez Wealth Management premises. The school year will close with two cultural outings, during which mentors and mentees will discover the cultural wealth of the city in which they are studying, Nice, and the Principality of Monaco.
